MFT Friday & a Winner

Happy Friday everyone! Today I have a cute little My Favorite Things card to share. Its combined it with my new dotted cuttlebug embossing folder. I LOVE the new designs!! So for this card I also did some paper piecing on the girls rain coat. I found this plaid Scenic Route patterned paper and immediately thought it would make a great "fabric" for a raincoat. So I adhered the coat to the card stock and finished it off with my Copics. I added some crystal effects on the puddle. Other accessories used are SU ribbon, Making Memories brad, and circle punches. Card stock colors are SU Tempting Turquoise, Olive, Pumpkin, and Sky Blue.

And now for the winner of the Queen Kat Design's blog candy giveaway.

QKD Wednesday & Blog Candy

I am extending the blog candy entry time until Friday @ noon. Good luck :)

So, I finally get to share some fun news I have been keeping from you. A few weeks ago I got an email from Vicki, owner and designer of Queen Kat Designs. She asked me if I would like to be one of her Guest designers for this month. Of course I said YES...because her designs are so fun and chic. So she sent me one of her March card kits to work with and these are the samples I came up with. I love how easy and quick it was to make these six cards because all the effort was already made for me. The kit includes stamps, paper, ribbon, and all embellishments. All I had to do is color in my stamped images and put everything together. QKD even has their own gallery where you can upload all your creations. So not only did she include a kit for me to work with she also was sweet enough to send a gift to give away to you. Yup, that means today is also a blog candy giveaway. All you have to do is let me know if you like the idea of card kits. I will draw a winner on Thursday morning @9am and announce it later on that afternoon.
Hugs,
Ana

P.S. There are still some March kits available so make sure to grab them before they are all gone :)

SU Monday

Happy Monday everyone! Hope everyone had a great weekend. Today I have another SU card to share. It features the new Occasions set called Bloomin' Beautiful. I am really enjoying these stamps because they are so much fun to color. I used my Copics to color the images. I went for a bluish purple tint and really liked how it turned out. I also used my cuttlebug and pulled out my script embossing folder to create the background panel. I aged it a bit with a sponge and some brown ink. The flower brad is from Target's dollar spot and the black brad is from Making Memories. Well that is all I have for you today. I am finishing up a cute Easter project so make sure to check back for more details. Its going to be Eggstra Special...hehehe

MFT Friday

Hi All! First I want to thank everyone that sent well wishes to my little buddy. I am pleased to report that they worked because he is feeling A LOT better. He still has some yucky coughing sounds but for the most part be is back to his normal ACTIVE self. So I have been doing some stamping but I still can't show you those samples. But soon enough I will be and I know you will enjoy them. For today I actually have a card I made earlier this month for the February MFT released. It features the mini of the month called Serenity Now. I colored in the main image with my Copics and combined it with some equally tranquil and serene Basic Grey "Infuse" patterned paper. I tried to keep it simple since I found that the paper and stamp were beautiful themselves. I did added some criss crossed hemp on the corner for a more balanced layout. I guess this card is all about balance ;) Well that is all I have for you today but tomorrow brings another SU Bloomin' Beautiful card I made. Have a great weekend.
Hugs,
Ana

P.S. If you have a chance check out the new CARDS magazine where I have two MFT cards published. I am so excited. I know I am a dork :)

A sick little buddy

is sleeping in my bed. Sorry for not posting these last few days. My 3 year old is sick AGAIN with a cold. I am pretty bummed because he seemed to be getting better but these last few days he is back to square one. So I haven't had a lot of time to make anything. I hope he feels better tomorrow. Anyhoo I do have two GinaK cards to share that I made earlier this week. I love her silly little sea creatures. I had a blast coloring them in with my Copics. The patterned paper in the crab card is from Scenic Route and the octopus paper is from Basic Grey "Two Scoops". The sentiments from both cards are from My Favorite Things "Essential Sentiments". Well that is all I have for you today. I will try and have something new for you tomorrow.
Hugs,
Ana

SU Friday!

I know I am a little bit late in publishing this post but the hubby and I went out for V-Day tonight. We had a great time. First we went to eat Sushi (YUMMY) and then we watched the movie Juno. If you haven't seen it then you really should because it's such a cute and funny film. I also got a beautiful bouquet of red roses and chocolate. I really love my guy *smile* Any who back to the card. Yesterday I got my new order of SU stamps. It had been a while since I was drawn to anything in the SU catalog but this Occasions Mini really blew me away. I especially loved the Bloomin' Beautiful set that featured my favorite flower, the Hydrangea. So for this card I color the flower blooms in with my Copics. I also used the SU Sanded background on the Guava card stock. The sentiment is from My Favorite Things "Essential Sayings". Patterned paper is from the Basic Grey "Perhaps" line. Accessories are SU ribbon, brads, circle punches, and a gold eyelet. Have a great weekend.

Ana

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy V-Day everyone!! Is anyone celebrating with something special? The hubby and I are going out to dinner on Friday because we have to help out with his mother's flower shop today. Its CRAZZYYYY this time of year. Any who before I head out there I wanted to leave you with a couple 4 x 4 cards I made using the Papertrey Ink stamp sets. Can you believe this is the first time I even opened the package. I made it a promise that I would stamp them before V-Day is over. I really love them I just haven't found the time to use them. I tried to go with something fast and simple for both of them. The first one is just a square of continuous stamping of the circular scroll image with the sentiment stamped on a oval scalloped nestie die cut. I used some SU ribbon and eyelets to complete the card. The ink used for the circle scrolls is Brilliance Copper. The second card was made using the Papertrey Ink "My Punny Valentine" set. I flocked the squirrel with some pink flocking. I added a rhinestone for the eye and tied a bow on her tail. The grass was stamped with Brilliance silver and platinum. Card stock used is SU Blossom, Sahara Sand, PTI, and Basic Grey "Two Scoops". Well that is all I have for you today but tomorrow brings a couple Gina K cards. Make sure to check back.
Hugs,
Ana

Twisted Tuesday

Hi All! Hope everyone had a great weekend. I managed to get some stamping done but mostly I just hung out with the family. Today I have a couple cards to share with you that feature the My Favorite Things "Twisted Sentiments". I love this set because it provides me with some fun clean adult humor that so many of my friends and family will get a kick out of. If you are interested in this set I will you need to click HERE. Kim has posted it on her site in a hidden area under the Limited Edition category so anyone who found them offensive didn't have to look at them in the regular MFT stamp area. The first card I made is a cute Whipper Snapper puppy stamp that went perfectly with the "Size Matters" sentiment. I had a blast coloring it in with my Copics and adding some bling to the hearts and bow. The patterned paper is from the "Hey, Sugar" Crate Paper line. The second card was made with the MFT "Soak up the Sun" mini set. For this card I used the adorable Basic Grey patterned paper "Two Scoops". I colored in the images with my Copics and did some doodling with a SU journaling marker. The layout is an old SCS sketch challenge. Well that is all I have for you today but tomorrow brings a few Papertrey Ink cards I made over the weekend. Make sure to check back.
Hugs,
Ana

Altered Goodies

I recently went to Target and stocked up on some of the dollar mailboxes. Unfortunately, I have only made one since then. So last night as I looked at the stack of them collecting dust I decided to make another featuring the super adorable The Cat's Pajamas Valentine's Day stamps. The mailbox is covered in "Hey, Sugar" Crate patterned paper. The cupid kitty is stamped with VersaFine Onyx black on Papertrey Ink stampers select. The circles are nestabilities die-cuts as well as the scalloped circle. I also highlighted and colored in the kitty and her details with my Copic markers. Accessories are SU red wide grosgrain ribbon and May Arts ribbon. Other card stock is SU Mustard, Pomegranate, and Kraft. The second project is one of those nugget tins made famous by Nichole Heady. I also used The Cat's Pajamas V-Day images. They work perfectly with the nugget Avery labels. I made a paper slider to adorn the tin with some more of the Crate "Hey, Sugar". I also used my new heart nestabilites die cuts to create a tag to hang from some wide SU chocolate grosgrain ribbon. Well that is all I have to share with you today but I do have some more projects to share with you. Make sure to check back tomorrow.

Have a great weekend.

Hugs,

Ana

Release Day!

Today is the day!! My Favorite Things will be releasing three sets today at 10:30pm. We are also having another fun filled cocktail party over at the MFT SCS member forum from 9-11pm. Make sure to head over for some "serious" chatting. For my card today I am featuring the Eggstra-Special Easter set. I simply adore this little egg not just because its cute but because it's so much fun to color. I combined it with this weeks SCS sketch challenge. I used my Basic Grey "Two Scoops" patterned paper again. I am telling you I can't seem to put that 6x6 pad away. Its perfect for Easter, V-Day, baby cards, and more. The images were colored in with my Copics and the grass is made with some Christmas beads I bought at HL last year. The ribbon is SU and the other card stock is SU Pomegranate, Sky, Mustard, and PTI samplers select. Well that is all I have for you today on my blog but I do have a few more cards to share during the cocktail party. Hope to see you there!

Hoppy Easter

So today I have another card that features one of the new My Favorite Things sets called Eggstra Special Easter that will be released on Wednesday. Its a cute little bunny and chick set that I really enjoyed working with. The rabbit was colored in with my Copics along with the tulips. I love the bunnies big ears. It makes him look extra whimsical! Card stock used is SU Sky Blue, Regal Rose, Eggplant, More Mustard, and Papertrey stampers select. The patterned paper is from the new Basic Grey "Two Scoops" collection. The ribbon is SU certain celery and its attached to the large pewter SU eyelets. The little prima flowers are attached to a purple pastel scalloped binder clip from the Oriental Co. To complete the card I added some stickles on the bunny and flowers and did some faux stitching around the Regal Rose panel. Well that is all for today but I do have plenty more to show you so make sure to check back tomorrow.
Hugs,
Ana

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you guys had a good one. We celebrated our 3rd annual Super Bowl Party. It was so nice to have all our family and friends together. But now that it is over I have tons to clean up..yuck! So before I head downstairs for some serious cleaning I wanted to post this card featuring the new My Favorite Things sets. The main image is a Yoga girl from the "Serenity Now" set and the sentiment is from the new "Twisted sentiment" line. I am so enjoying them both. The twisted sentiments are so much fun and I am so glad that Kim came up with this great idea. It's nice to have some adult clean humor sentiments. I know I have plenty of friends that would get a kick out of them. Actually I am sending this one out today. The layout is the new MFT sketch challenge created by Cindy. I thought it went perfectly with this image. Well I have a few more cards to share so make sure to check back. You won't be disappointed.

Oh Baby!

One of my good friends is about to have her baby. I am so excited for her and since all we have been talking about lately is baby I thought I would make a cute baby shower invitation/card. She already had her shower but I still wanted to pull out my MFT "Shower Time" and make one up. I also wanted an excuse to pull out my Basic Grey "Two Scoops" patterned paper. I thought the pastels would go perfectly with a baby theme. The main image is stamped with VersaFine ink and stamped on Papertrey Ink card stock select. I then colored it in with my Copics and added some dots on the umbrella with some liquid pearls. The ribbon is a wide tan grosgrain color and the baby pin is a light yellow from Paper Studio. Other card stock used is SU Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, and Bayou Blue. The card is a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 square. I also wanted to make the card non-gender specific so I went with both pink and blue. Well that is all I have for you today but tomorrow brings some more cards. Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Ana
